Nissan cars manufactured for the Nissan North American product line are generally produced in one of six manufacturing facilities located in Japan, the United States and Mexico. Japanese Facilities include the Oppama, Kyushu and Tochigi locations, while the American manufacturing locations include those in Canton, Mississippi and Smyrna, Tennessee.

Austin. As part of its multinational expansion goals, Nissan forged an agreement with British-made Austin in 1952 to assemble and sell Austin cars in Japan.
Nissan vehicles were initially sold under the ‘Datsun’ banner, which was derived from an acronym of the Kaishinsha Motor Car Works investors’ surnames, which together spelt ‘DAT’.
Nissan Titan made in America. Although the transmission is sourced from Japan, all of the engines are made in America. The standard gasoline engine is made in Tennessee, and the diesel engine is made in Columbus, Indiana. Like the Frontier, more than 50 percent of the Titan’s components are made in the United States and Canada.
Made in America: Now a bargain for Nissan. Nissan, which is based in Yokohama, Japan, has benefited from turning its U.S. manufacturing plants into an export platform. In August, Nissan began shipping right-hand-drive Pathfinders to Australia and New Zealand, bringing the number of export markets served by the Smyrna plant to 61.

Nissan. Taken together, the Renault–Nissan Alliance would be the world’s fourth largest automaker. Nissan is the leading Japanese brand in China, Russia and Mexico. In 2014 Nissan was the largest car manufacturer in North America.
But the Nissan brand continues to work on clearing up the controversy, as it keeps bringing more jobs to America with expanded operations right here in the states. One of the most recent additions involved bringing production of the next-generation Murano to its Canton, MS plant.
